Daniel Mak is our Principal Accountant with over 25 years experience in the Accounting Profession.
He is currently a Qualified Accountant and Registered Tax agent.

Before moving to Australia in 2003, Daniel had worked as an Accountant in Hong Kong (known to the world as the financial hub in South East Asia) for over 15 years both in the public and commercial accounting sectors, covering small to medium enterprises – ranging from restaurant chains, manufacturing operations, retail establishments, supermarkets, all the way to high tech start up and IT service providers. His experience and expertise has covered areas including but not limited to accounting, costing, auditing, consultancy, taxation, IPO, acquisition and company secretarial work. During those years, his hard work, determination and efforts have established in him a skill set with technical, personal and communication components absolutely essential for working with large to small businesses.

Especially with his last 5 years when he was in Hong Kong working in the auditing field, he has ample opportunity to consult clients at the top levels including chief accountants, CEOs and directors of the board, …etc. It had certainly toughened him up and subsequently taken him to the next level in his accounting career.

He has also had experience not only managing one of the top IT service providers in Asia but implementing information solution projects for hotels in that region. The organisations services covered design, implementation and maintenance of IT systems in both hardware and software and most important of all, the back end “accounting system” for most of the biggest hotels in Asia. At that time, 4 out of the top 10 hotels in the world were in Hong Kong and some of the Accounting Departments Daniel worked with had a staff membership size of over 200 personnel.

After the big move to Australia, Daniel completed his Australian university degree in professional accounting and has worked in a few city based accounting firms in gaining his Australian Professional experience. In 2006, Daniel became a fellow member of the Institute of Public Accountant and a registered Tax Agent in Australia. He started his own practice in that year and single-highhandedly developed a client base for Daniel Mak & Associates in the next 2 years, since then he has been dedicated to services that assist in the growth of his client’s business.
